Thanks for those good sugestions. The TiBook does have Appletalk turned on. The part of this problem that doesnt make sense to me is that the G4 with OS X can see the 8600, but the tiBook can't. The G4 and 8600 are both hardwired to the the router, while the tiBook is wireless. does that make a difference somehow?
