Thanks for those good sugestions. The TiBook does have Appletalk turned
on. The part of this problem that doesnt make sense to me is that the
G4 with OS X can see the 8600, but the tiBook can't. The G4 and 8600
are both hardwired to the the router, while the tiBook is wireless.
does that make a difference somehow?

Warren, I was experiencing the same problems with my D-Link DI-514 wireless router. After poking around D-Link's online tech support, I discovered that D-Link does not support AppleTalk over wireless.

Is there planned support for MAC and the D-Link wireless products?

Currently, there are no plans to have Mac drivers for our wireless network adapters. Our wireless adapters as well as our access points and wireless routers do work with Macintosh Airport wireless devices. Also, since Access Points, standalone wireless clients (DWL-810+), and routers do not require drivers, they will work with Macintosh.

Note:The Appletalk protocol will NOT be supported over a wireless connection.

This is a very interesting point that I was not aware of when I made my purchase. I'd like to hear if anyone has had success with using AppleTalk on any wireless router other than Apple's.
