I saw a video online of a woman making a case at some conference that XNU was a 
hybrid kernel.

In my case I was trying to tip toe around the merit arguments of the kernels, 
rather that a major point of any file system and kernel is data integrity. If 
the kernel is going to treat things willy nilly, fakak things up as the gate 
keeper, it hardly matters if higher level processes try to do good things.
