And really clean cabling, properly run, good patches, switches, etc. And primarily large files being transferred. But FWIW, Apple has some hardware (2010 27" Core i5 iMac) hardware floating around that does not do jumbo frames. Which is appalling on the face of it, but then when considering that a network must have the same MTU for interoperability, one such computer at reception or in accounting can obviate jumbo frames for a whole organization or require separate LANs with a router to fragment packets for the castrated devices on the network.
