I'm not sure why that's ironic. OS 9 has been effectively dead for 8 years and 
officially dead for, what? 5? at least 4.

There are no OS 9 browsers that can handle HTML5 and precious few that can even 
do CSS2 well.

I still have a working //gs and it doesn't have a browser *at all*

Anyone still on OS 9 is the very definition of penny-wise, pound-foolish. When 
there machine dies, they will lose everything because they haven't migrated 
their data along the way and now they will have a very hard time converting 
their OS 9 files to a usable format. A hard enough time that much of the 
conversion will be either impossible or too expensive to be viable.
