I did already a lot of googling, but not this one. So, I gave it a
try, and landed once more on Apple's support page.
Not that one of the entries there would have had an explanation, but
it gave me the idea to clear all syncs of calendar and iCal.
That worked after the third sync process. I then was able to "resync"
calendar and iCal, and it seems to work now properly...
This whole syncing thing is anyhow somewhat mysterious...
