I wish I could say the same. I too have dozens of windows/tabs open most of the time, and I too have Click2Flash installed. Activity Monitor almost always shows Safari using 1.8-1.9 GB of Real Mem. Recently my iMac's internal drive died and I'm now running off an external drive that happens to be loud. When I open, switch, or even close pages in Safari I hear that drive being beaten to death by swapping.
Certain sites seem to make things worse, in particular YouTube and HuffingtonPost.
Every couple of years I switch browsers for one reason or another which I can never remember. I think one reason I switched to Safari was speed. Now I'm eying Chrome, although I hate what they've done with the title bar. One test will be: when I click on the Windows menu, does it take a few seconds of noisy swapping before it displays the menu?
I forget why I stopped using Camino; I'll give that a try as well.
