Maybe it's just me, but I think Apple forgot to add anything new to the iPad 3, its just "more of the same"
it's not more of the same, it's just not the mindblowing 3D-immersive, waterproof, 20-finger-multitouch, subwoofing, never-needs-charging, two-mile-wifi-ranging iPadopotamus that some people seem to have thought was the only way Apple could save itself from its ongoing slide to the bottom
the display is ahead of any other tablet; BlueTooth 4, 4G, hotspot capability … these are new for iPads
- Slightly upgraded camera
slightly? the camera goes from barely useful for snapshots to capable of many practical uses like document scanning; big win!
No Apple TV interface?
just what would hook to what? the Apple TV doesn't have any input other than wifi, and Airplay already works with an iPad 2; iPad 3 can now Airplay 1080p to the new Apple TV
No Thunderbolt? No Siri?
Siri would be a nice touch, but what would you use Thunderbolt for? how much more would you be willing to pay? you make it sound like you want innovation for innovation's sake
personally, i would like the iPad to be a better photographer's companion; to this end, on the hardware side at least, more storage would probably be great; the ability to tether to a "real" camera would be fantastic; but that doesn't stop me from appreciating the iPad 3
