I think Nathan may be referring to a way to control the Apple TV with your voice from the iPad (or other iOS device), or perhaps use the iPad as a traditional remote or even a trackpad for the Apple TV (via WiFi).
These I believe will be introduced with a new Apple TV that runs full iOS (with apps) and will these will be features of the Apple TV rather than the iPad etc. Note the current new Apple TV does not support any of this. I'll will probably wait for this before we get one.
