No, the requirements are at least one lower case letter, one upper case letter, one number, cannot have 3 consecutive identical characters, can't be the same as the account name, and 8 or more characters in length. This is directly from the popup that appears at http://applied.apple.com when the password died is active. And yes, they are serious about one number. Ziggy%^!Malery will not satisfy the password check, but Ziggy123 will. Also, the page has disabled pasting, so you MUST type the password in manually.
