What he means is that you'd be running software that duplicates what the firmware is already supposedly doing for you. I don't know much about SSDs, but I do know that datamemorysystems.com markets their own brand. I have bought a lot of their memory products over the past 15 years, and they have always been top rate. They are all lifetime guaranteed, and replacement has always been no questions asked. They have even restocked perfectly good memories for me without a fee when I have either ordered the wrong model (my error) or had a client back out of the job after I had ordered their memory. I have always considered OWC a go-to place for high-quality products, but if they were failing for me like yours are, I would be willing to give Data Memory Systems a try.
