That shriekname is in the format of a macOS unique ID. You can see a bunch of them, for example, in ~/Library/Mail/V5, or inside your Photos database.
It's probably just an old version of the plist file. It can't just rename them ".old" and still keep all of the other .old versions, so that's what it does.
