Ditto... Epson and HP install numerous daemons on your system, and HP sends back all kinds of info to Home Base. I had an HP all-in-one that refused to be set up unless it was connected to the internet! (I had it on a private network.) That one went got returned the same day! So I went ahead and ordered VueScan. Thanks for all the feedback! -Carl
