Looking at this script I see that the proprietary driver is apparently 
what is 'talking' to the USB port.  The rest is merely data handling or 
a terminal session to a device, or apparently so.

Is there any way to address the USB port directly?  For example to work 
with a game controller or some other auxillary device such as a haptic 
feedback mouse?  (Where you can theoretically mouse-over a hot-spot & 
have the controller shake in your hand to simulate texture or 
something.  (see the iFeel mouse for PC's))
