Only Quadras can run MacOS 8.1. I used to run MacPerl 5.20r4 on a Quadra 650
with MacOS 8.1 , I had alot of problems using it ( which I cannot remember
in detail It's been almost 4 years :-). ) Which were not present in the
PowerPC version.

I myself would like to see support << entirely >> dropped for 68k  and
systems prior to MacOS 8.1 in Perl 5.6.1. For the main reason of making
present and future development easier.
