Sorry about being wrong; Mac OS 8.1 works with some 68K Macs, Mac OS 8.5
does not.
And to clarify, the question is really two parts: architecture and OS version.
I also meant to add that MacPerl 5.6.1 will have greater memory
requirements (as perl 5.6.1 has greater requirements than perl 5.004), this
making it less usable on legacy Macs anyway. And of course, MacPerl
5.2.0r4 is still usable on the old machines. :)
