Not a quick and dirty tutorial, but there's an entire BOOK on the subject (and more). MacPerl: Power and Ease by Chris Nandor and Vickie Brown. Also, there are some excellent examples over at macperl.org As for myself, I haven't been doing much with MacPerl since MacOS X came out, but I've used it for everything from doing WHOIS from within BBEdit to some simple speech synthesis. MacPerl was immensely helpful when I was doing abuse-desk work, which is apropos your "spam" comment. There's no way a legitimate request to a discussion list like this one would EVER be considered spam, BTW. --B
