Bootcamp just resizes the partitions. It doesn't have anything to do with booting another OS.
-- If you go to http://www.mactel-linux.org/wiki/Main_Page and check the right hand side of the page, it looks like the site are building a custom live CD for this purpose. I haven't tried it myself but I think it'd be a better bet than another distro.
