some of the "little dots" on my MBP C2D are silver, and others are gold.
it's possible the gold ones are brown though, as there's a translucent piece

want to remove it.

Well, I also have a 'brown' outline on the back of my battery (in the shape
of that chip area) so this is definately from heat... And those 'dots'
REALLY look like they are scorched to me. Dunno. I'll have to really get a
close look I guess. I've started to keep mine on a glass table because I'm
scared its going to literally catch fire one day... :-) Especially in the
summer with no central air running and glibc/gcc make/make check's going on
and the like... This sucker really gets hot when you start compiling large
source code, which is what I do for hours every day... I had to stop playing
video games in Windows because the thermal protection would kick in and shut
the thing down... Not good...

Apple says not to use their laptops at an angle or on your lap?? where'd
you read this? a URL would be great..

I'm trying to find that link again. It was on CNET tech or something like
that... I'll keep looking... If I would have bookmarked all the silly
statements from apple that I've read, I'd have an amusing collection by
now...
