Hi.

First question: You can enable and disable the Voiceover sounds  
including the clicking sound Voiceover makes to indicate the progress  
bar is moving in the VOiceover utility. Press VO f8, press the down  
arrow to the sound tab and press the tab key to check if the "mute  
sounds" is enabled or disabled.

Second question: You can press VO a to read what's under the Voiceover  
cursor. That means you can move the VO cursor to the progress bar, and  
then press VO a to read the Vo cursors content.
