Hi DOnna, thanks, but it seems what I get is åe
, which seems to give a different character and in fact two  
characters  instead of one. Now you gave me an idea I had not tried I  
guess. It seems if you hit option-e, release, and hit the letter e, I  
get exactly what I want.  So, yes, you helped and thank you so much.   
I just couldn't quite recall what I did and though and just didn't  
realize it was two keystrokes.  I had it in my mind it was one  
keystroke.  Now I have something to play with and I can try all sorts  
of stuff.
