I unplug everything and then close the lid. That puts it to sleep and I
generally haven't had any problems. I haven't really put my computer to
sleep or shut down for a long time and I like being back up in running
in just a few seconds after opening my macbook. Is there a compelling
reason to put the machine to sleep before closing the lid? I thought
that closing the lid did the same thing as selecting Sleep from the
Apple menu.
