Ray, only way I see to get around it is to start writing name of the person and 
then all numbers will show up. However you are correct. It sure does enter the 
home number if you go into contacts and tap on iPhone number.

Let me try to explain a little more exactly what the problem really is and why 
it's a big deal to me.

1.  Go in to message app.

2.  Double tap compose.

3.  Now, double tap to choose a contact to add.

4.  Now, choose a contact where there is both a home and mobile number and the 
home number is listed first.

5.  Now, double tap on the mobile number.

6.  Now, examine the to field.  You will notice that the home number is 
selected.

   This is the case whether you do this inside message or the contacts app.  
See what the problem is?
