Hi, When you say that you were getting annoyed at how long it takes to get a date down, what exactly did you mean. You can have the Calendar app automatically place events on the proper date by pressing cmd-n to create the new event then putting the date within that field. For example, "Meeting with my Boss at 3:00 pm on Apr 30 will place that event exactly where you need it. The more detailed info if it's recurring and such does seem to need manipulation though.
