Hello, By default, uTorrent has a setting set where it will not allow the Mac to sleep or shut down while uTorrent is running, even if all the windows are closed. This can be adjusted in uTorrents preferences. Make sure when quitting apps such as this one for example, that you use Command Q and not Command W. Also, this could be coming up because there is a prompt that comes up asking if you want to Quit uTorrent so you can choose to quit it or not to, if you have files downloading.
