Question: Do I need to press VO-Cmd-l to get to the link if I am already
standing on the link? The message contains text and some links. I stand on
the link I want to activate, but when I press vo space bar nothing happens.
I wonder what I'm doing wrong.

You need to press VO-Cmd-l to get to the link and then VO-Space to activate
the link which will open Safari. VO-l just reads the line.
