As with any new operating system, I would suggest waiting until at
least the first, maybe the second major update before installing it,
much safer that way.

You can’t really go by these bug lists. They may be an issue for one
person, not on another. Depends on a lot of factors.

Thank you so much, Alex for posting this list of bugs in the new
operating system. Having just read a mainstream review the talked about
how this was a "rock solid" release, it is disheartening to see so many
bugs in your list. I do know that Apple cares about accessibility. But
it is damned hard to keep that in mind when they release a rock solid
version with so many Voice over bugs. I have to believe that equivalent
functionality for the mainstream would not be impacted in a release
version. But because we are a small group, we can wait. And we can love
it, as I'm sure the critics will now come out and tell me.

Hi all,
Just a note to say that El Capitan has been released. I compiled a bug
list for AppleVis which I strongly recommend everyone looks at, as
there are some pretty major problems on there. I also wrote a blog, and
did a podcast, covering the new features in VoiceOver. Links:
Bug List:

New Features Blog:

New Features Podcast:

I realized, in reading this email back, that it might come off as a
little arrogant. I don't mean it that way, I just wanted to give people
a single place to get some coverage about the new OS, and those are the
only accessibility-centric sources I know of for now.
