Arnold, save your computer CPU cycles and or money, I’m not sure one needs any 
software like on windows assuming you use safe computing practices, generally 
don’t download much from the web and don’t use any weird alternate app stores.  
Don’t open attachments and all that, the real common sense stuff.  That in 
combination with a good router with firewall feature which you probably already 
have is pretty good.

                It is not true that it is as easy to write virus code for Mac.  
The Mac uses a Unix operating underneath that is not broken in the special ways 
that Microsoft operating systems are.  Windows had huge security holes and once 
in a failed file system with no real user level control.  Unix has real group 
and individual user control as wel as more robust services and on and on.  
Also, unlike windows especially older versions, your user should not have 
access to the whole system like it does on windows so your more isolated and 
the Virus has to elevate it’s security access, not just install and run 
unincumbrered.
