Hey Mike. It sounds like all Apple voices have this issue. The funny thing is 
when I'm using either the Nuance or Acapela voices, this issue doesn't happen. 
As for people saying that Apple is lacking in quality, everybody has their own 
opinions and I don't agree with everything people say about the subject. But 
keep in mind that you are using Sierra on a 2010 model. Not everything will 
work as flawlessly as we want them to. I think Sierra will probably be the last 
OS that 2010 models will be supported as the demand for processor power is 
getting higher and higher every year. And now that the new Macs are out, a lot 
of features in 10.13 will probably cator to those models.
