I agree with you that this will probably be the last version of the operating system to work on 2010 macs, my mac mini and macbook are from 2010, so will probably be upgrading those next year. I understand some features not working, and I'm ok with that, but if an operating system is going to work on a computer, it should not have a major issue like this that completely prevents you from completing what you are working on and requires you to reboot.
