Well I needed directions to new doctor. With no wyfy or cell signal it told me
not abled to complete request. The phone was totally useless. I had to wait
until almost on top of town where cell signal came up and GPS found my
directions.
My nephew on his android phone with no cell connection worked better with GPS
then mine did.
Now out on lake James in North Carolina it was totally useless for any
directions. No phone gets signal or wyfy on that lake.
I have to use my own cell tower just to get signal out my house.
So if your near major cities you will have signal for all.

This is not correct.
Even with out service enabled the GPS chip is functional and also pulls
location data from the network. You have to have cell signal for the tower
based location but GPS will be received all the time. You will need to have
data cached locally if you don’t have an active account. WiFi is not required
however.

I have recently tried just what your wanting to do. You can do it as long as
you have a wyfy connection. If not then your iPhone is just a big paper weight
and only good for books and games.

Hey EAT,
How about a tactual compass?
This would point you and the guide dog in the general direction and when you
get close the dog's training would kick in! :)

A little effort and a little bribery with the guide dog will work wonders. That

Well, you could go old tech and just ask for help. Honestly, technology has

I'm going on a camping and rock climbing trip with a group called Adaptive
Adventures. Last year, I had some trouble getting lost in the camp grounds.
Like if I wanted to get to the bathroom on my own I would always get kind of
lost. I have a guide dog but he'd get confused as to what I wanted him to do. I
was hoping some people could give me some tips on using technology to help me
with stuff. Any ideas what so ever are acceptable.
I have an iphone 5s, a Macbook Pro, and an old ipod Touch. The iphone is
running the latest version of IOS. It's slow but it works. I am willing to buy
some new stuff although it is probably too late to update my phone.
