Hi Donna,

 Interesting,
Yes within sierra you have to manually enable file volt,
I've got it running on my MBA but that I had to do myself.

Would it be worth while reimaging the machine back to a clean setup and then
trying again?

And yeah File Volt I've found can be odd when entering password / user details.

Hi, Simon,

I'm running Sierra.

the whole thing was just strange. I'm starting to wonder if I'm having
problems with my keyboard. I kept getting the message user ID or password
incorrect, and I know I was typing them correctly. Eventually, Voiceover went
away, and I couldn't bring it back. The whole thing was kind of unnerving.
Cheers,
Donna
