Makes sense, but I am buying unlocked phones so I do not have the same type of
incentives that you do.

I know some people do AT for a living so having the latest phone can be an
essential part of the business.

The other thing for me is that upgrading is kind of the gift that keeps on
giving. I really do get a crazy good price on a new phone from my employer.
Part of that is based on trading in my old phone. So, this year, for example,
I’ll get much more for trading in a 12 than I would for trading in an 11 or an
SE, which in turn, reduces the price on the new phone. So staying with the
current model pays off.

Cheers,

Donna

Good point about the OCR and other apps that use artificial intelligence and

I have not noticed any significant lag when VoiceOver tries to describe images
in apps using the SE 2020 IN IOS 14.

I’d consider the Mini iPhones if it had touch ID.

That is more important to me than power since I have a M1 mac and a Windows PC
capable of scanning documents.

I think this is very much a question of personal preference. I understand what
you’re saying, but I like my devices to run fast. Patience is not one of my
greatest virtues. So, is there any app that wouldn’t run on the SE? Probably
not. Will those apps run faster on a 13 mini? Undoubtedly. And personally,
that’s something I care about. Not saying everyone has to care about that, but
I do. Also, as Apple does more with screen recognition, AI, and spatial audio,
the more powerful phones will be able to make better use of those features.

Cheers,

Donna

Why do you feel you need the extra power?

I find the SE very responsive, and sometimes users do not need the latest
phones to accomplish the tasks they need.

Is there an app that you can’t run on the SE?

Apple is like any other company in that they can’t produce something new every
year that no one has seen before.

Sometimes, it is just upgrades.

There is nothing wrong with that, but it is a good idea to pause and ask
yourself if this is really something worth buying based on your own needs.

The older iPad 5th generation was something new that I had not used before, and
I wanted something with better sound quality.

I have to say that my biggest disappointment in Apple’s presentation last week
was that the new phones won’t have touch ID. I have the 12 mini, and I’ll
probably upgrade to the 13 mini, but only because I get a good upgrade price
through my employer. Were it not for that, I’d probably not upgrade. I just
can’t justify switching to the SE, because it’s got so much less power than the
other phones.

Donna

The sound quality on the SE is good, but it doesn't match the Mac or iPad.
The only limitation for the SE2020 is that it doesn't support Lidar, and I do
not think it has 5G.
However, those features are not a priority for me.
I just hope that it will continue to receive IOS updates now that the iPhone
Mini 12 and 13 are out.

Hi.

I must say I am very happy with mine too.
When I got it, my original SE was still working well, although I was using IOS
11 on it. lol

It's very responsive and most times I have no issue with it.
I even enjoy listening to music on it while I work, without any external
speaker. The sound quality is quite good.

Hope this helps.

Take care,
Tali

I love the iPhone SE 2020.
It is the same size as the iPhone 7 and iPhone 8.
It is fast though there have been complaints about the battery.
It is the best iPhone I've owned.

Hello,

I’ve decided to upgrade from iphone 8 to iphone SE 2nd generation (2020).
My reasons are to do with the touch ID sensor. Would you be happy to
share your views/opinions on this iphone with me?

Andrew
