I won't go near a Neo. My Mini M4 Pro with 24 gb ram even feels slufggish at 
times, let alone a 8gig machine on an almost 2 year old iPhone chip.
The performance is equal to the five year old M1 machines at best. The Neo is 
good at single core but multi core it disappoints.
And even if you can live with it at this moment, it's doubtful you will enjoy 
it for a long time. The Neo has the absolute minimum tech specs and is not very 
futureproof.
If you want to use your Mac for at least 5 years to come, you really need 16 gb 
of ram.
