hm, yes, good suggestion.
An alternative screenreader should be nice but:
It should cost money I think,
it can't have the same features from the beginning like vo since vo is already 
5 years old and had already made big  improvements.

However, it should be nice to have it for situations like you describe.

I don't know also if Apple has to make it possible or perhaps some external 
companies should understand the need of a external screenreader next to a 
built-in screenreader.
I fink we can say that vo has much more quality then a screenreader like nvda 
or narrator on windows.
