Hum, maybe you should revisit NVDA. It hardly compares to Narrator. It's a fully functioning open source scriptable screen reader with full msaa support, braille support, sapi5 support, full web browsing capabilities, and compadibility with other open source software. They've had 4 years to work on that thing now. I'm not sure it's a full replacement for some one requiring the advanced features of jaws or window-eyes or voiceover, but most of my clients would be more than happy with the current state of NVDA for email, web, basic microsoft word, windows support and other day to day computing.
