Hi Anne, Thanks for the quick and thorough reply. Doesn't vuescan do ocr? What I'm wondering is whether one needs both Abbyy FR and vuescan. I thought I remembered somebody saying that vuescan will do ocr, but maybe I'm nuts. It looks like there isn't a way from within Pages to start scanning like you can with Word on the Windows side of things using Omnipage. Unlike me, my husband's scanning needs are for pages here and there, which he either uses as is, images inserted in to documents, or ocrs because he needs to edit the page in some way or other. So he's looking for the most efficient way to get that done on the Air, using Pages as the word process/publisher program and hopefully just one scanning app that will provide both the image and, when needed, the ocr.
