Frankly, I think for most blind users the best choice right now is probably
Docu Scan Plus. I have also used Eye-Pal, and there is too little that you
can actually do with it considering the price.

The 600f is working, but the ocr programs don't seem to be nearly as
flexible and feature rich as Omnipage for Windows. Specifically, it does not
seem possible to select portions of the image that you want ocr done on. But
that's not a voice over issue, so not for the list. It is surprising there
isn't at least one full featured scanning program for the Mac.
