Hi! I assume this preferences file you're talking about is for fixing the com.apple.doc.extra problem. If so, I'm not sure it would help. I had a tech from Apple help me reset my preferences over the phone, but the second I organized my doc the way I wanted it again, the problem came back. Now, if you're talking about a way to fix midi playback on the other hand, I'm very interested. For now, though, I am just using snow leopard. For my limited skills and needs, it just seems to work better.
