Eloquence

Hey all,

Glad to hear that I am not alone in my frustration.

Nuance Communications owns ETI Eloquence, but rare are the people over there
who know about its existence.

I will try and get hold of a Nuance developer to discuss SDK options and
licensing, and revert back to you with a digest of my phone calls and email
correspondence.

If Apple refuses to integrate Eloquence, I am thinking we could start a
little fund raising and put a budget together to hire someone to work on an
independent port.

What do you think?

Yes, I requested such a thing many, many moons ago.

I don't think it is going to happen. If we, as low-vision Zoom users,
cannot convince Apple to allow us to truly customize basic color schemes
instead of the "one-size-fits-all" reverse color technique, I doubt if they
are going to implement what they must consider to be an inferior TTS.

I could be wrong or at least, I wish I were. (Smile).

Has anyone written to Apple accessibility about this? I did a long time ago
about getting it on the iPhone.

been my favorite voice synthesizer. I used to be able to listen (read)
thousands and thousands of pages without ever getting tired of it. The
intonations were amazingly good and compared to most of the TTS out there,
it knew how to tone the exclamations.
