What type of router are you using? I used to have this kind of issue
when I was using a D Link router with my Mac.
As for the second issue, I have seen this behavior on my Mac Book Pro
during some boot ups. I'm wondering if there is a preference file that needs
to be replaced or something of that nature. I haven't had the time to really
dig and experiment though.
