Hi Lou, Well, the reason I asked about a replacement is because I had a friend with a hard drive issue; she purchased her iMac from a reseller and they did replace the hard drive when she had issues with it. I have no problem with doing a complete erase and re-install, that sounds like the way to go. I scheduled a call with Apple this morning to discuss how to proceed, so will let you know the outcome of that call. Thanks.
