Hi Ricardo
I think both is true. This is because the thing is it's not just us that gets
attacked. I Can't claim to be an expert myself. However, although you can
install anti-virus on your computer, you are ultimately depending on that
company to know what they're doing, and this has always been the strong point
for the Mac, The fact that everything is all one unit and you don't have to
worry as much about this issue. In Apple's case, they could say "we have it
covered for you, and you don't have to worry about that."
The thing is, when we choose an antivirus program, unless we are computer
professionals, we have not a clue if that company knows what they're doing. In
fact, most of us blind folks are going to choose the company based on whether
they are accessible. The We are not actually taking our own responsibility when
we install antivirus on our computers. This is because we are trusting someone
else to do it right. If they don't, we've had it. It would be different if we
could do our own programming and protect ourselves With our own expertise. I
responsibility for security, I think, is going to have to be wigmaking backups,
and securing those copies. Other things too would come and play for us, line
keeping us passwords secure and other common sense stuff.
Regards,
Gigi
