I'm not sure if my function keys are set for hardware functions or not.
Just adjusted the speech rate. Can more voices be added, or just those
that are installed by default?

an optical drive plays and write Cds/Dvds. You can get both internal and
external optical drives, called super drives.
To change VoiceOver settings press vo-f8. If you have function keys set
for hardware functions, which it is by default, you need to add fn to the
combination. Also vo is control-option, kind of like a modifier.

then it's the Macbook Pro with non-retina display. This is the only
choice now if you want one with an optical drive built in.
