I'd never go through Geeksquad.

I've literally had to basically hold their hands when it comes to Apple
products. Granted, they always do right by me once I tell them what needs to
be done and how to do it, but 90% of the agents I've spoken with dont' even
know what Voiceover is, let alone, how to use it.

Why do you think when I got my Mini this last February, they screwed me over
like they did. I trusted they knew what they were giving me. Turns out, they
not only gave me a much older system, it didn't even have the specs I needed,
and from what I remember, it was a referbed which they didn't even tell me, and
it only had like, 128MB ram, and was running Tiger! Needless to say, I was
mother? effing, pissed out of my wits! Darn straight I took it back and told
them where to put the thing, and trust me, it wasn't where the sun shines
either. Needless to say, I wound up getting the mac I needed plus! they gave
me an extra year of warranty and even installed with my help an extra 4 gigs of
ram, that it normally didn't have for no cost to me at all. Oh! I raised holy
hell terror! OK, I could see if they'd given me a Mountain Lion system that
may have been a half year or year old unknowingly. Still would a been
unacceptable, but I wouldn't a made such a stink, but, come on! 1 28MB ram?
Tiger OSX 10.4? Give me a break! I wanted to slauder the guy who did that!
(Obviously, not literally.) I was irate though putting it mildly. Needless to
say, if I'm going to Best Buy now to pick things up, I have them open it in the
store after I give them my money, and if it's a computer or something, I
literally have them let me inspect it, there in the store, and I'll even in
some cases if in doubt have them hook it up, and let me boot the thing, and be
sure it is what they say it is. they don't like me always doing that to them,
but hey! I'm not getting screwed again. I'm sorry, and if they want my
business, they'll do it, and they do.

The bottom line is: I'd never! use their phone support. Not to mention it's
highly over priced.

I charge $15.00 per hour, and $25.00 per hour for after hours, but I'm not only
familiar with Voiceover, but I myself use it on a daily basis, and, even am
full Apple certified, as an authorized Apple trainer. Why spend several
hundred bucks when you could spend less than $100 for 4 hours of training/help.
Not trying to market nor plug my business or tell you to come to us instead,
do what you feel's best, but just know we're out here, and we're way way
cheaper. Plus, I don't think Geeksquad offers any money back guarantee, where
we on the other hand, do.

Chris.

  Hi List,
I have access to Best Buy's Geek Squad tech support line that's open
24/7. Not sure if anyone else uses this option, and if so, are technicians as
knowledgable as this list? Would I be better off not going through their tech
support, if they don't have sufficient training in VO?
      Thanks,
      Anita
