Hello Cait.

All you do is connect your AirPort Extreme to your Mac and the other end in to 
your provider's modem if that's the type of ISP you use. In other words, take 
away the provider's router. then on your Mac go to Airport Utility, after 
pressing on the image with VO space. find edit button, and when in internet 
tab, put in your Username which the ISP gave you along with the password that 
you have for that provider. at the bottom there is an update button. The 
AirPort Extreme will start back up after it's warned you.
