Me neither, for the two days I've had the app. You might try uninstalling it 
and downloading a fresh copy from the App Store, or perhaps Google can shed 
light on the problem?

As to the formula, I did get things working with a test sheet using the fill 
command. I read on a forum that adding a formula to a header cell will apply 
that formula to the whole column or row associated with that header, but I'm 
unable to get that to work and am starting to doubt the veracity of that claim. 
I guess I'll just have to fill for now until I can find a way to make a formula 
apply to every cell in my column automatically. Now to go structure everything 
and set up the multiple formulas and tables I'll need to make this venture 
worth all the trouble... Wish me luck! :)
