Today I've checked out the newest version (HAL: 0.9.17, ath_pci r1652,
ath_rate_sample r1652, wlan r1652) of madwifi-ng, I also do an upgrade to
kernel 2.6.17. Nevertheless the problem this exists. Is absolutely
impossible to change mode from "b" to "a" or "g" in monitor mode. I'm also
100% sure that this card is OK, becouse my other friends who also posses
this card model (Winstron CDB9-GP - this card is very popular in Poland)
have the same problems. I hope that somebody will eventually fix this
nasty problem. Most of people buying these cards for tools like kismet,
because of supporing a/b/g modes...
