Comment (by [EMAIL PROTECTED]):
Hi,
I'm having a similar problem, I and thought I'd offer some info on my case
(in hopes of fixing it quickly).
When I try to connect to the certain APs I log the message saying
"[ath0:00:01:f4:74:f7:cc] discard assoc_resp frame, ie too short", which
states the problem plain and simple - AP agrees to associate but driver
thinks the frame is too short. This is probably the driver's issue,
although it could be non-compliance to the standards by the certain APs (I
don't know wifi standards too well). In either case it'd be nice to have
it fixed (or worked around). Same card works fine under Windows.
I have a full debug output if you want it. I have the packet capture too.
However, for some strange reason it didn't capture any packets to/from
that particular AP. This is probably my screw up though, I was doing it
pretty fast and carelessly, and only noticed that when writing this, so
I'll try again later and see what happens.
I was running latest stable release of madwifi on 2.6.17 kernel. svn
modules didn't load (was complaining about unresolved symbols).
Hope that helps. Contact me if you need anything else.
Thanks.
