i got mine working!

heres what i did
-----------
disable only the HAL in hardware drivers then restart
fully uninstall ndiswrapper if you have it
follow the firsttimehowtoinstructions/make and make install the madwifi
HAL
rmmod ath_pci
rmmod ath_rate_sample
modprobe ath_pci
modprobe ath_hal
goto system->admin->network and set the wifi properties
set wicd wireless interface to -ath0- not wifi0 or wlan0 (DONT FORGET TO
FLIP THE WIFI SWICTH ON THE FRONT OF YOUR LAPTOP!)
my wifi light is not on but my card works.
